Best of Show Winner
“Into the Future”
Nita Markos of Hillsboro, IL won "Best of Show" for the Thread Tails and Vapor Trails Navy Quilt Challenge celebrating the Centennial of Naval Aviation.
Description: Pictured ghostlike the Curtiss Pusher biplane makes the first at sea landing on the ghostlike USS Pennsylvania. Partially pictured is the moder carrier, USS Ronald Reagan. In a colorful sky the Blue Angels fly into the future. The border shows the dates 1911 to 2011, "Into the Future." I made a model of the air plane to get the desired view. I made a drawing of the seal from a very small picture then copied it on my copier. My original border shows 1911 to 2011, "Into the Future."
